Lighting and landscaping...

MAJOR UPDATE:  We have a closing date!! :D  We will be closing late this month, which will give us only one weekend before DH's hectic month of October to get us moved in.  We were hoping for an earlier closing date, but for now we're just trying to get as ready as possible.  We took advantage of some Labor Day sales and bought a fridge (which will be delivered to the house the day after closing) and a sofa and loveseat set, which is on back-order until mid/late October.  Today, we picked up a a couple of brown leather chairs, which will have to work until then!

Anyway, here are some photos of the recent progress!  The house is looking great! :)

This is the light fixture in the master bathroom,
which DH and I are both really happy with.

This is the light fixture in the 2nd bathroom, which has a broken light shade.
Hopefully, this will be replaced by our final walk-through!

The electrician installed the outlet on the island on the wrong side
(we specifically requested it to be located across from the sink/dishwasher),
but this is what the island looks like now.  The entire base cabinet is
going to have to be replaced (there is also a nick on the other side), but
that will be taken care of after closing, so it won't further delay us.

Our landscaping!  No sod yet, but we have bushes and a tree!

Our kitchen sink!  (The white thing along the back
of the faucet is the window sill.)

And we have toilets!  This one is in the master bathroom...

and there's one just like it in the 2nd bathroom!

I know this is going to sound strange, but have you thought about replacing the flusher part? The plasticy flushers really bother me; the last one we had broke off! You can get really pretty ones that would match your towel racks for not a lot. We replaced ours for like $7.

We also splurged on a new toilet seat for our apartment. It has brushed nickel hinges and everything. We may not own a house, but we have a pretty plush toilet! :)

Nah, that doesn't sound strange, and you know what? When we signed off on our Design Centre options, the paperwork said that the toilets would have chrome handles. This requires a phone call! I still haven't gotten the paint name/color of our blue front door either...

Did you get your chrome handles?

It's in the works! I requested them yesterday morning, along with the builder remedying ordering the *correct* dishwasher for the house. Even though we signed off on the chrome handles at the DC, I guess I still had to specifically ask for them... it boggles my mind!
